On Poetry and Culture Shock

I learnt your kisses by heart.
The memory of flowers on an empty vase.

Me aprendí de memoria tus besos.
El recuerdo de las flores en un jarrón vacío.

Memoricé tus besos.
Flores fantasmas,
Jarrón vacío.

Written during the same warm October as “September love”. An exercise on writing about feelings that I was very familiar with, but that I did not have at the moment.
